I thought I’d post these three pictures to celebrate the Aloe’s which are now flowering in my garden. These pictures are from mid September 2004, not long prior to the big move. The Aloe Ferox and Aloe Plicatilis, Fan Aloe, both flower at the same time.
Our local extended family of Wattle birds absolutely love this Aloe Ferox. Seeing them feast on it is a magnificent sight.

This is the second post in my old cactus garden series. This garden was established in 1996. I had carted all the plants from rented house to rented house prior to buying our home and creating this garden. Actually Howard a landscape gardener created this garden. I’ll find a good shot of the whole garden as he created a wonderful oasis for us.

Here’s another magnificent agave attenuata in flower. While the blossom and magnolia trees are stunning in Melbourne at the moment these beautiful agave’s are quietly doing their thing.
The photo below of yet another agave in flower is from the Melbourne zoo. I’m really looking for the day mine flower, or I should say the year mine flower, as their flowers last for so long.
These fantastic low maintenace succulents are originally from Central America. They require no watering so are incredibly drought tolerant. My original two flourished under my eves and …
