Aloe Plicatilis and Ferox Flowering 2

I’ve already posted a couple pictures of my Aloe Plicatilis and Aloe Ferox flowering, but as the Plicatilis, Fan Aloe, has now been moved I thought I’d commemorate it with another photo.
If you ever have to move plants this size then do you self a favour a hire from proper lifting gear. Five big guys could not budge my Fan Aloe, but that’s a story for another time.

Cerus Honey Anyone?

I posted a couple photos of my Cerus columnar cactus before, here and here. This cactus flowers prolifically from mid to late summer. The flowers are magnificent. They have a beautiful pink tinge, are huge and stay out until early afternoon. As you can see from this photo bees also love the flowers.

The Cerus is a much stronger cactus than the San Pedros and will grow to be very tall and sprout many arms as you can see in this photo. Mine keeps growing and is surprisingly rock solid in high winds.

Agave Attenuata with San Pedro

Displaying cacti and succulents in a symmetrical and complimentary design is a great way to highlight these fantastic plants. I like to combine contrasting forms to complement and highlight each plant. In this case I chose Agave Attenuata and San Pedro. I think they look fantastic together.
