This amazing Dracaena Draco Dragon Tree is the bestĀ specimenĀ at the Melbourne Botanic Gardens.

My family and I had a great day walking around the Melbourne Botanic Gardens today and this was one of many Dracaena Dracos that we saw. I was more surprised by the first one we saw which must have gone straight up for twenty foot or more before branching. Dracos branch after they flower and most of the time that is after ten years or so and at around a trunk of four feet high.

The arid garden, California garden and cactus garden at the Botanic Gardens are all excellent examples of drought tolerant gardens. The Draco above is a feature in the arid garden. Though I must say my Fan Aloe is 100 times better than the Fan Aloes in their cactus garden!
